Strategic planning continues to be the primary focus of the East Central Kansas Regional Development Association and likely will be for the foreseeable future.

During the RDA’s monthly board meeting on Friday morning, RDA President Chuck Scott presented the results of recent strategic planning discussions to the board. Scott says the conversations have been productive so far, with the ultimate goal always being to increase company recruitment and retention.

Although the end goal seems simple, Scott says the road to achieving it is anything but because there are several underlying initiatives that need to be addressed.

Strategic planning meetings will continue over the next few months, but the exact date of the next meeting has yet to be announced. Scott says the next round of talks could take place next month or early July.

In other matters, the board received monthly reports from Scott’s Chairman and President and RDA Chairman of the Board, Jamie Sauder. The RDA Board will meet again for its monthly meeting in June.
